Daventry - Window Timber Repairs and Redecoration

Overview

T&D Design and Build were instructed to repair and restore a series of external timber windows at a property in Daventry. The works focused on removing decayed material, reinstating timber sections, and completing a full redecoration to protect the windows long-term.

Removal of Damaged Paint & Rotten Timber Inspection

Our team began by stripping back the existing damaged paintwork to fully expose hidden areas of rotten timber.
This allowed us to assess the condition of each window and identify where repairs were required.

Timber Repairs - Cut Out & Splice In

Where decay was present, we carefully:

• Cut out all rotten timber
• Spliced in new timber sections, profiled to match the original design
• Ensured all joints were secure, smooth and ready for decoration

This restored the strength and integrity of the window frames.

Final Preparation & Redecoration

Once the repairs were complete, we prepared the windows for painting and carried out a full redecoration process:

• Primed all new timber
• Applied 1 coat of undercoat, with a 2nd coat to isolated areas where needed
• Finished with 2 coats of exterior gloss to provide a durable, weather-resistant finish

This gave the windows a clean, refreshed appearance while ensuring long-term protection.

Outcome

The windows were successfully repaired, restored, and fully redecorated - improving both their structural condition and visual appearance. The property now benefits from long-lasting timber protection and a high-quality finish.
