BOSTON RESTORATION DELIGHTS LOCAL PLANNING ENFORCEMENT OFFICER
T&D was employed by Mitie to complete another restoration project, namely the Halifax Bank in Boston. Over many years the building had slowly deteriorated and as a legal and moral requirement, it needed to be carefully brought back to life.
Upon appointment, T&D attended the site to issue a full scope of works. This was then passed to the Local Authority for its approval and comments. With the scope approved and a Safe System of Work (SSoW) in place, T&D got started.
A TG2013 compliant scaffold was erected to protect the public below and the working areas were safely isolated with barriers. T&D then completed all necessary bespoke joinery repairs, replaced damaged glass, repaired the windows, and redecorated the entire front of the building.
Upon completion, T&D invited the local authority to review the works. The feedback received was fantastic, with the Senior Planning Enforcement Officer stating “the works look very good, particularly the joinery repairs. And it just goes to show that with a little know-how, and of course skill, it isn’t always necessary to replace timber windows. The building looks very good and thanks for the job well done”. With a happy client and approval from the local authority, we were very pleased to see another restoration project well done!
