Halifax Boston Branch Restoring a listed building on a like for like basis under approval of local authority
BOSTON RESTORATION DELIGHTS LOCAL PLANNING ENFORCEMENT OFFICER
T and D were employed by MITIE to complete another restoration project, namely the Halifax Bank in Boston. Over many years the building had slowly deteriorated and as a legal and moral requirement the building had to carefully be brought back to life.
Upon appointment T and D attended site to issue a full scope of works, this in turn was then passed to the Local Authority for their approval and comments. With the scope approved and a Safe System of work in place T and D then got to work.
With a TG2013 compliant scaffold erected to protect the public below and the working areas safely isolated with barriers T and D completed all necessary bespoke joinery repairs, replaced damaged glass, repaired the windows and redecorated the entire front of the building.
Upon completion of works T and D invited the local authority to site to review the works close up for themselves. The feedback received was fantastic, with the Senior Planning Enforcement Office stating “the works look very good, particularly the joinery repairs and it just goes to show that with a little know-how and of course skill it isn’t always necessary to replace timber windows. The Building looks very good and thanks for the job well done.” With a happy Client and approval from the Local Authority
T and D were very pleased to see another restoration project well done!
